Parking Proposals in Whitley Bay

The Chamber of Trade Committee were not made aware of the recent parking proposals by North Tyneside Council, which is extremely disappointing given the potential impact on local businesses and Whitley Bay.

This morning we were approached by the local media and asked to give a statement. Our statement is as follows:

“The Chamber committee are disappointed to have not been consulted on any of these matters in advance of the notices being published."

We have informed the media that we plan on issuing a further statement.

As we cannot speak on behalf of our members we have contacted them via email to gather their views. We will be engaging directly with North Tyneside Council in due course to ensure the voices of Whitley Bay’s independent businesses are heard.
